TZEDAKAH:  MAKE A CONTRIBUTION

In times of joy or sorrow, it is customary for Jews to perform tzedakah.  If you wish to express yourself in this way, we welcome your contribution to Congregation Beth Emek’s general operating fund or one of the congregation’s special-purpose funds listed below. 

Donations can be made by check (mailed to 3400 Nevada Ct., Pleasanton, CA 94566). When you make a donation, please note the fund you wish to donate to and any special honors or occasions you would like noted with your donation.

Chesed Fund –provides loving-kindness and support for congregational families in times of need

Prayer Book Fund – provides funds to purchase prayer books (siddurim) and Torah commentary (chumashim) for the sanctuary.  A bookplate to commemorate the donor, honoree, or specified occasion will be placed in the front of the book for a minimum donation of $54 for a siddur and $108 for a chumash.

Library Fund – provides funds to purchase books and periodicals for the Beth Emek Library

Isaac Transportation Fund – provides transportation for seniors to and from synagogue services and activities

Preschool Fund – enriches the Beth Emek Preschool program by providing funds for unbudgeted needs

Religious School Fund – enriches the religious school experience of students by providing funds for unbudgeted needs

Youth Group Fund – provides funds to support teen programming at Beth Emek

Atid Educational Enrichment Fund – enhances the educational component of the summer program of Camp Kadima Jewish Community Day Camp

Campership Fund – provides subsidies for children of Beth Emek members to attend Jewish overnight and day camps

Israel Scholarship Fund – provides subsidies for Beth Emek teens to travel on organized peer trips to Israel

Social Action Fund – supports community outreach efforts, such as the Backpack Project and Turkey Drive

Special Programming Fund – supports enhanced programming, such as guest speakers and visiting scholars, to enrich the Beth Emek Community

World Jewry Fund – supports programming and activities that educate the community about Israel and Jews throughout the world; supports Jews around the world

Tikvah Fund – provides for the synagogue building and enhancements to the facility

Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund – provides funds to be allocated by Rabbi Winer at his sole discretion.  Donors frequently contribute to this fund in appreciation of services the Rabbi has performed, such as officiating at a wedding or funeral, or assisting with bar/bat mitzvah preparation. 

Memorial Board Plaques An inscribed yahrzeit plaque will be mounted on the memorial wall in memory of a loved one for a donation of $360.  Funds from memorial board contributions support the congregation’s general fund. 

Religious School Scholarship Fund provides financial aid for children of Beth Emek members to attend religious and Hebrew school

Preschool Scholarship Fund provides financial aid for children of Beth Emek members to attend Beth Emek Preschool
