On-Going Projects
Annual Backpack Project
Each year Congregation Beth Emek joins with an interfaith group to donate backpacks and school supplies to needy children in the Livermore public schools. We buy the packs and supplies, fill them, and deliver them directly to the children.
Annual Turkey Drive
Each year Congregation Beth Emek donates a number of turkey dinners to the needy of Alameda county.
Low Cost Senior Housing
Congregation Beth Emek is part of an interfaith group that oversees three low cost senior housing facilities in Livermore: Hillcrest Gardens, Vineyard Village, and Arbor Vista. At these facilities, the rents are subsidized by HUD.

Ethiopian Embroidery
Need an idea for a unique gift? How about a beautiful hand-made Jewish Ethiopian Embroidery? In the heart of Ethiopia's capital, a compound houses 18,000 Jews who are unable to find work. To support themselves, they make these beautiful pillow cases and matzah covers. For Daniel Naito's Mitzvah Project, he has decided to sell these items and donate what is gained to a program that gives school-age children in the compound lunches for an entire year. For more details and ordering information, please visit Daniel's website. Thank you for your support.
